Job requirements
- Build and install formwork for structures such as hospitals, carparks, apartment blocks, hotels, warehouses and other concrete structures
- Inspect, repair, and dismantle formwork after concrete has been poured and set, ensuring that structures are built to specifications
- Use a variety of tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and leveling devices to precisely measure, cut and shape formwork materials
- Work closely with other site team members, including labourers, construction supervisors/managers, steel fixers, post-tensioners, and concreters, to ensure the task is completed efficiently and safely
- Follow established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and maintaining a clean work area
- Provide guidance and training to apprentices and less experienced workers
Experience and skills
- Proven experience as a Formwork Carpenter
- In-depth knowledge of formwork systems and construction principles
- Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, and sketches
- High proficiency in measuring, cutting, and assembling formwork materials
- Familiarity with Australian safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing and equipment
- Good physical condition
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Certification in carpentry or 3 years plus of Formwork experience
