In September 2016, FineForm collaborated with Georgiou on the Liv Apartments Development, a $61 million project for Defence Housing Australia, located in Fremantle, WA. This development transformed a dilapidated car yard into a vibrant residential complex, offering 166 modern one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, alongside 1,300m² of commercial space, private basement parking across three split levels, landscaped courtyards, and public open spaces to enhance the locale.
The project entailed comprehensive work scopes, including geotechnical investigations, structural surveys, underpinning adjacent buildings, and constructing a double basement retaining structure with 588 CFA piles. It also involved the bulk excavation of 19,000m³ of limestone rock, installation of a capping beam, and shotcrete work.
Liv Apartments is distinguished by its commitment to sustainability, featuring solar panels, edible gardens, landscape irrigation, and energy-efficient ceiling fans, all designed to minimize energy consumption and reduce household bills. Additionally, the project promotes a waste reduction strategy and incorporates recycled materials like timber and bricks from the site’s original structure, further contributing to its environmental responsibility.
